Hertfordshire FA, Letchworth
Smith Construction was awarded the contract to convert Hertfordshire FA’s (home of Hertfordshire FA headquarters) natural pitch at the County Ground, Letchworth, to a 3G football pitch.
Due to the ground sloping from adjacent corners, Smith Construction was tasked with levelling and stabilising the pitch, whilst ensuring the existing surrounds complied with DDA regulations. The surrounds were re-tarmacked, to create an even surface between the pitch and spectator pathways. Extra steps were installed where the pitch levels were altered during the cut and fill process.
