Overview
Smith Construction is proud to be delivering the next phase of football improvements at Southampton’s Outdoor Sports Centre, a key development supported by the Football Foundation.
The works involve replacing four existing grass pitches with three new floodlit 3G all-weather surfaces — one full-size (11v11) and two smaller (9v9) pitches — significantly increasing the site’s year-round playing capacity.
The project focuses on delivering a safe, efficient construction programme and a high-performance finish, ensuring long-term quality and accessibility for players across the city.

Outcome
Once complete, the enhanced facilities will provide greater access to high-quality football pitches, supporting grassroots sport and helping Southampton continue to grow as a hub for participation and community sport.
